Overview and Instructions
All paperwork must be submitted by the application window deadline.
Individuals requesting test accommodations for the NBHWC Board Exam must submit all required forms and documentation through their myNBME.org account. Requests are reviewed in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
To request accommodations, applicants should check the accommodations box during registration and carefully review the full accommodations packet to understand all requirements. All supporting documentation must be uploaded no later than the application deadline.
What to Include
Required:
- Personal statement describing the disability
- Report from a qualified professional (within 3 years)
- Relevant objective records (transcripts, evaluations, etc.)
- Request for Test Accommodations Form
- Certification of Prior Test Accommodations Form
Do Not Send:
- Handwritten or unsigned letters
- Duplicate or incomplete reports
- Original documents
Note: Documents must be clear, legible, and combined into a single PDF.
Step-by-Step Process
Accommodations can only be requested during the application window.
Select the option for “ADA accommodation Request” when applying for the exam.
- Review all guidelines in the packet.
- Complete the Request for Test Accommodations form.
- Gather supporting documentation.
- Submit your form and documentation via your myNBME.org account.
- Wait for acknowledgement from NBME Disability Services within 2–3 business days.
