Who attends Quarterly Connects?

• NBHWC Quarterly Connects are open to all National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coaches (NBC-HWC).

How often are applications reviewed?

• Applications are reviewed in June for Fall and Winter events; applications are reviewed in September for Spring and Summer events. Applicants will be informed of a decision after each review period.

Can I reapply in the future if I am not selected?

• Yes. If your application is not chosen, you may reapply for the next review cycle.

How are dates for Quarterly Connects determined?

• Dates for Quarterly Connects are within identified windows of each quarter of the year. Applicants will want to select the dates within the application that they would be able to present.

Can I apply to be a speaker if I have presented a Quarterly Connect in the past?

• In effort to provide dynamic and diverse learning opportunities to NBC-HWCs, presenters may be selected to speak at a Quarterly Connect once every three years. If you have presented to our coaching community within the past three years, please plan to submit an application three years after your last engagement.

What is your criteria for approving a speaker?

• The NBHWC Program Approval Department uses the NBHWC Content Outline to assess how the presentation material advances the professional practice of the health and wellness coach and is relevant, accurate, and aligned with the NBC-HWC Scope of Practice.

What will I need to apply?

• Your application will require details on the topic you wish to present. You will be required to submit an event title, description, objectives, and how the presentation will advance the professional practice of the health and wellness coach. You will also upload marketing materials, including examples of previous presentations, social media handles, and a headshot. An application can be opened to read the questions and requirements; however, please be aware that you are not able to start a submission to complete at a later date. Be certain to begin the application only once you have all elements prepared for submission.

Can I advertise my business in my Quarterly Connect?

• Your business information may be included in your bio. However, advertising or solicitation of a business or products is prohibited within the presentation. Speakers should be certain to present educational content that is free of the control of commercial or financial interest.
