    Cheng Ruan, MD

    Cheng Ruan, MD is a board certified internal medicine doctor and the founder of Texas Center for Lifestyle Medicine. He is an advocate for developing integrative business models in patient-focused communication within private practice settings. He is an advocate for collaborative medicine and has developed community programs in Houston, TX anchored in health coaching. Dr. Ruan completed his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University, then completed his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and chief residency at New York Presbyterian-Queens/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

    Dr. Ruan was the co-author of a diabetes reversal book, and has spoken internationally on the topics of cannabinoid based clinical data as well as neurodegenerative disorders. He was the primary investigator of former professional football players in concussive injury neuroimaging models. He has spoken at national conferences such as the Personalized Lifestyle Medicine Institute, Autoimmune and Pain Medicine Symposium, and the Institute of Functional Medicine Annual International Conference, Brain Aneurysm and Stroke Conference by Baylor College of Medicine.

    During the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Dr. Ruan launched TCLM University, a free online educational platform using concepts of functional and mind-body medicine to empower patients with different disease states. He was also the host of the 2021 Physician Practice Automation Summit which was dedicated to doctors in practice.

    He is a father of two daughters, a husband to an Ob/Gyn physician, and son to parents in both traditional eastern and western medicine.
